I’ve been working with a group of young men who live on my housing estate. Over 6 months we’ve recorded a lot of tracks, and now I’ve put the best 12 onto a mixtape called ‘uncut on the blocks’. It’s been a great opportunity to work as a facilitator, and to work creatively with a lot of different artists!
The mixtape is called ‘uncut on the blocks’ because the lyrics are uncut: they are not censored or guided in any way. ‘blocks’ is another name for a housing estate.
