INSET 2: compassionate communication

So often we respond with anger when we receive criticism. Sometimes we lose our temper with someone who just doesn’t seem to understand what we’re saying.

A really valuable tool to develop is empathy. Once we can ‘put ourselves in our partner’s place’ (to use an Aikido term) - we can get closer to uncovering the needs that are driving their behaviour. Knowing what we need and then working to get those needs met is vital for healthy collaboration and communication.

This workshop aims to give people a taste of NVC, and how language patterns can be used in daily life to uncover our unmet needs.

INSET 4: Creative thinking

Creativity is a vital and innate part of all of us. A powerful tool that can solve problems, inspire others, bring excitement to lessons.

  • Why do so many people claim that they are not creative?
  • Where and how do we use creativity?
  • How and why do we block our natural creativity?

This workshop aims to answer these questions with games and discussions, and leave the participants with some new tools to use in everyday life.

INSET 1: coaching

Non directive coaching is a big part of business and life coaching. It assumes that the client has all the knowledge and resources they need to progress and grow in their personal and professional life.

Non directive coaching is extremely useful in schools, where teachers can support each other in achieving their goals and resolving their issues.
This workshop gives an introduction to coaching and the ideas of rapport, non directive questions and high quality listening. The aim of the workshop is to give attendees experience in the coaching process - what it is like to coach and to be coached.
